I doubt that you'll remember me from about 3 years ago, I live in Bolton Lancs.

I bought Trading Forex For Beginners and spoke to you on the phone a couple of times but never met you. Since then I've been on the rounds trying different things without any success. Anyway, I bought your latest course about 5 weeks ago on scalping, which I think is excellent. If I could master this it would suit me perfectly, but I'm under no illusions how difficult it is.

I've just completed my 1st month on the demo and as you can see from my analyser I'm a little in profit. I've done about an hour or so a day over 18 days over the month.

Even though I'm in profit I've only achieved 50pips which is clearly below target and I feel a few of those I've been a bit lucky. I think I've done ok on controlling losses, but my biggest problem is jumping out too soon and not letting trades run in my favour. This is what I'm working on this next month. I'm trying to use the World Spreads demo as if it has real money and just do an hour or so a day but use the Visual Trader for a lot more practicing.

The more I do this the more I can see how easy it is to lose discipline,I read my rules every morning, it's still hard but I feel I'm improving I have difficulty sometimes defining the trend,for example it can be up on 15min chart, down on 5min and sort of both on 1min. I've done a trading plan which was quite difficult to do even though it's all on one A4 sheet of paper. I have all my rules on and money management, hours to trade and targets, one of which is to go with a live account in 6 months if I'm consistently doing ok on the demo when I intend to have bank of £3000 and trade at £5 per pip.

I have had a very successfull after noon. I started trading around one pm and finished around two thirty. That was enough for me. Trading the EURO/USD at 25 pounds per pip on the virtual account on World spreads I did not have one losing trade. I made ten trades and made 50 pips - in other words my weekly target! . This was much more like the control you spoke of. I did find it mentally draining though. I am off work on Monday so I am looking forward to trading then. Hi John, Just wanted to say thanks for a really enjoyable couple of days, thecourse really lived up to my expectation. We all get asked in our lives at some time what would you have liked to have done if you had the choice or "if you had the choice again" blahblah blah.....for me, I've been pretty lucky as a serial entrepreneur but I always answer "If I had my time again, I would like to have been atrader " not just for the money, but I love strategy, risk and have the passion.

I know that the stats are not good with a 90% drop out. I have started today with a conviction to make the 10% grade. I recognise all the danger signs in myself, especially as I'm privileged to have made a few quid over the years, so will need to tread really carefully and avoid the dangers you pointed out. I made 12 pips on 2 trades today. The urge to push on has been huge, but you sit on my shoulder saying "shut the computer, go and walk the dog"(if I had one ;-) so it's the frothy coffee machine for me.

So what's my plan? Scalping is right up my street :-) I'm going to set myself the next couple of months to work my WorldSpreads demo account and learn, learn,learn.
